Name: Kirley Duke McCormack Age/Birthdate: 28 / 21 February, 1971 Blood: Half-blood Former Hogwarts House: Gryffindor Affiliation during the war: While not actually a member of the Order, Kirley supported their cause completely.
Marital Status: Single Sexuality: Bisexual, prefers men but will date either sex Living Arrangements: Lives alone in a large, immaculate flat in Hogsmeade decorated in a tasteful minimalist style. Occupation: Guitarist and songwriter for the Weird Sisters
Appearance: Kirley is six feet tall even, and fairly slender, but somewhat defined in his arms and chest. He has dark brown (almost black) hair that he wears in a nearly punk style, and hazel eyes. He has a nearly elfin appearance as far as facial features, and looks somewhat younger than his age as a result. His skin is quite pale, and he tries to stay out of the sun (unless he is playing Quidditch with his sister, or anyone who will play against him, which he does to keep fit).
He is usually wearing some sort of punk/grunge inspired Muggle fashions: jeans, boots, lots of black and white clothing, anything stylish that will show his individuality. Even when wearing something old or torn, he always looks well put together. He has some small scars from Quidditch, and a small tattoo of the word 'unity' written in Sanskrit on his left bicep.
The best way to describe Kirley's appearance would be elegant. His whole presence has a casual yet definite grace to it, and even when he is letting loose, he still has certain charm and poise in the way he acts and presents himself. It is not pretentious or condescending in any way, it is just how he has always been. Personality: On the surface, Kirley seems to be an easygoing, somewhat rebellious man. He can be quite silly and likes to joke about and have fun, especially when he is around friends and loved ones, yet can also be quite serious and grounded. He will usually come off as reserved when he first meets someone, but his true self shines through once he gets to know them. He is known as 'Mum' with the Weird Sisters, and is the one who takes care of everyone else in the band.
He is not the 'bravest' bloke out there, but he does stand up for what he believes in. Even if he will not admit it, he is a sentimentalist and a romantic at heart, and anyone who wins his affections in that department will have a very attentive boyfriend who will spoil and take care of them. He does seem to be a bit brooding and 'emo' at times, but can snap out of it very easily. He is loyal, athletic, and smart; and would do anything for his family and friends.
Some of his strengths include his caring and bold nature, he's not afraid to speak his mind when he needs to even if he is quite diplomatic in most situations, and is an accomplished guitarist and songwriter. Some weaker points include the fact that he can sometimes be a slacker, gets moody at times, and can be self righteous on occasion. He enjoys things such as cooking, playing Quidditch and spending time with friends; though he is not a fan of injustice or ignorance in any form.
Music is very important to Kirley, and he plays guitar, bass guitar and piano. His musical influences are both Wizarding and Muggle, mostly old school punk and goth bands such as The Hobgoblins, The Cure, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Joy Division, Sisters of Mercy and The Smiths. Background: Kirley Duke McCormack was born to Catriona McCormack, a professional Quidditch player and then Captain of the Pride of Portree, on 21 February, 1971. He was born a few minutes after his twin sister, Meaghan, who is currently the Keeper for the Pride of Portree. He did not know who his father was (his mother will not reveal this information to anyone publicly) until he was entering his first year at Hogwarts. His father, a man named Michael Duke, was a Muggle who had an affair with Catriona, and was killed in an accident soon after she became pregnant. One of his most prized possessions is a pocket watch belonging to his father, that his mother gave to him on his sixteenth birthday.
Kirley and Meaghan were raised by their mother, with help from her family and friends, in Portree on the Isle of Skye near Northern Scotland (so their mother could be close to her team's location). Growing up around Quidditch players, he developed a love for the sport.. His mother also encouraged his love for music, and he took piano and guitar lessons at a young age. He decided that he wanted to be in a band 'just like The Hobgoblins' when he was a child, and his mother encouraged him in this. He started writing his own songs when he was eleven, the summer before he started Hogwarts.
When he arrived at Hogwarts, he and Meaghan were both sorted into Gryffindor, which he was happy about because they were in the same House. He played Chaser on the Gryffindor Quidditch team, which he loved. However, there is one thing he loved more than Quidditch: music. He plays the guitar very well, sings (not so well), and writes songs. It was during his first year at Hogwarts that Kirley met Myron Wagtail, one of his roommates. They were opposites in almost every way but shared a common love of music and general mayhem, and they became close friends. One of his other roommates was Bill Weasley, who also became a friend.
After leaving Hogwarts, Kirley, along with Myron and some others that he played with in various groups in school, formed the Weird Sisters. They took their name from the creatures who prophesy the destinies of the main characters in Shakespeare’s Macbeth. They struggled for a couple of years before scoring their first hit, and are quite successful in Wizarding rock circles. They are planning on releasing a Muggle album sometime soon as well.
During the war, the band took a short hiatus, but are now once again going strong. Starting in the mid-1990's, given the state of affairs in the Wizarding world, his songs had started taking on a social/political edge, but he employs metaphors to keep from being blatant about it. He was and continues to be a supporter of the Order, even if he is not a member, and wants to do what he can to make sure the Death Eaters never try to take over again.
